The International Ski Federation (FIS) recently partnered with deltatre to rebrand their web site in time for a significant increase in Internet traffic by fans of each sport discipline and the Sochi Winter Olympics that begins in less than 100 days. The new FIS web platform has been operating for one month now and delivers a database of exclusive digital ski, snowboard and other snow related sport content for a broad range of  global fans such as we have here at the Sports Technology community. This blog highlights the new deltatre bells and whistles on the FIS website.

Sports Techie, I am excited about the upcoming winter Olympics in Russia, it promises to be a sports technology bonanza for all with deltatre and the FIS leading the downhill, half pipe and Nordic digital content way on the new web site design and functionality.

The FIS has executed a proactive approach by adopting top deltatre sports tech into their content and culture. By aligning with proven Industry leader deltatre, the Federation has shown the world and their 118 member countries that they will continue to deliver a diverse and rich content flow from their web site. Their unique second screen experience when combined together with television will be like no previous winter games. Surprisingly absent are any social media feeds.

I like the sites simple interface and the photos, enriched video and breakdown of stats. The refresh rate is super-fast. The Results page has real-time data and the Event information is thorough and displays each nations flag for quick identification as to who is competing for each country and how they are performing. I also enjoyed perusing the live timing, biographies and the promotion and marketing page. Products, service providers and documents for marketing purposes are easy to find and use. The deltatre Forge CMS is an additional tool to help increase face engagement and sponsorship ROI.

Worldwide ski communities take note of this new business relationship between the FIS and deltatre. This arrangement promises to deliver innovative digital content to your computer, smartphone and tablet for the next four years and hopefully beyond should both entities perform as expected, just like the FIS teams and athletes featured on the evolving FIS web site.

Let’s all hope for lots of fresh pow (powder snow) during Sochi 2014 so the FIS site stays busy as they are now better prepared to manage because of implementing deltatre solutions and products.

Our gratitude goes out to the deltatre marketing team in Turin, Italy, for the share.
