CBC will implement deltatre powered digital coverage of the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada for the first time. The Pan Am Games runs July 10 through 26, then the Parapan Am Games are held Aug 7 to 15. CBC and Radio Canada plan to mobilize the Canadian fan experience with an engaging and interactive website, video player and mobile apps integrated into 2015 Pan Am highlights of 36 sports played by 7,500 athletes representing 41 different countries. deltratre Powers CBC’s Pan American Games Digital Coverage
Digital sport tech leader, deltatre, based in Torino, Italy plans to provide Canada with 600 hours of live and on-demand streaming across a multi-platform infrastructure for connected fans viewing the third largest multi-sport event in the world behind the Olympic Games and Asian Games.
“deltatre is privileged to be working with CBC again, especially on this very exciting event,” said Tomas Robertsson, deltatre Commercial Director, North America. “While this is our first Pan Am Games, it continues our strong track record of delivering unparalleled digital services for major multi-sport events. We look forward to continuing our partnership with CBC and providing the best possible digital coverage to Canadians.”
Deltratre’s Diva video player captures and streams all the event results rendered in real-time then available at panam.cbc.ca in addition to a mobile app designed to offer immediate coverage of the event delivered to CBC nation over live streams, the on demand app and website feeds.
Diva combines HD video, statistics, multi-stream footage and social media that companies can use to reach targeted end-users. This customizable product enhances live sport coverage for both online and mobile consumers.
CBC-Radio-Canada
The Canadian national public broadcaster continues to push the radio, television, web and satellite options for CBC/Radio Canada viewers and listeners as a cultural institution. Deltatre committed to enhancing internet broadcasts across each province and region. CBC-Radio Canada supplies local opinions in English, French and Aboriginal languages so the whole country comes together as one entity.
“We are pleased to extend our partnership with deltatre to the Pan Am Games.” said Ken Wolff, Executive Producer, CBC Sports. “CBC has experienced very rapid growth in digital consumption, especially during the Sochi Winter Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup last year, and it is important for us to work with our reliable and trusted partner: deltatre.”
Delate partnered with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the Brazil 2014 World Cup and now enters into an agreement to innovative Toronto 2015 beginning with the opening ceremony. Downtown and rural Toronto neighborhoods will be alive with excitement all games long so be sure to stay current by downloading the CBC Toronto Pan Am mobile app and by logging onto panam.cbc.ca for first and second screen competition content.
Sports Techie, the torch relay is about to finish up it’s interactive journey across Canada and Ontario. Canada just delivered perhaps the best ever FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup so the Pan Am and Para Pan Am are sure to be first class sporting events.
Look for the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am games in Toronto to debut seven sports and adaptive sports while bringing back two others, including, women’s baseball, the inaugural Pan Am golf competition hosted at Markham’s Angus Glen Golf Club and Women’s sitting volleyball. The return of men’s softball promises to be a hit with fans.
Join the social chatter at #CBCPANAM and #ourathlete.
If you go, be sure to visit the Pan Am Athletes Village. I like that weather conditions will be tracked by 55 new weather stations and 3 mobile weather vans.
When I was a kid, my Dad loved to share the story about my Mom’s opportunity to play in the Brazil Pan Am games for the Ecuadorian women’s national team. I wish deltatre would have archived those videos so I could watch them today with my son. Kids, family and friends will have that ability these 2015 Toronto Games thanks to deltatre and CBC technologies.
Let’s all help make this the Pan-American Games that launches a future Olympic Games bid the IOC can’t refuse.
See y’all later in Seattle, Atlanta and around the world.
