Ready® Sports Nutrition Donates To Susan G. Komen® For Breast Cancer Support

Ready® Commits to Supporting Fundraising Efforts for Breast Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Patient Support Services

Ready® is partnering with Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization. Part of the mission of one of the fast-growing premium sports nutrition brands across the nation is to support athletes which means mothers, partners, sisters, friends, and daughters, achieving and conquering their goals. This makes the Pittsburgh, PA based company a good fit with supporting the non-profit’s drive to save lives and end breast cancer forever while dealing with the challenges head-on, to persevere, together. Co-owners Aaron Donald and Giannis Antetokounmpo are part of the holistic commitment by Ready® to donate $250,000 in funding to Susan G. Komen as a means to assist fund breast cancer research and patient support services. Athletes know what it is like to fail, fall down and lose but they also understand the need to fight, be persist and endure, much like breast cancer patients need to do, day in and day out. This significant financial donation is designed to help females dealing with breast cancer diagnosis by supporting the millions of women and girls to lift themselves up knowing Ready and Susan G. Komen® are right beside them with both critical and non-critical services every step, lap or chemo session, as needed to defeat this insidious disease. The Sports Techie community blog applauds the partners for pioneering research and championing support services for all females, no matter their original gender, which includes I hope, the LBGTQ communities. An athletic mind set can be the right way to do it again, and again, and again, with the determination of a superstar, amateur or kid just learning sport. The never give up attitude of breast cancer patients is contagious and one I truly understand. You are not alone. When no one is watching, we are Ready.

“It’s a privilege to partner with an organization that is revered for doing so much in the fight against breast cancer and helping those touched by this disease, whether they be patients, living with metastatic breast cancer, survivors or their families and friends,” said Ready® Founder and CEO Pat Cavanaugh.  “Ready® is committed and inspired to make a positive contribution in terms of raising valuable funding for Susan G. Komen and being present as a supporter of its signature events.”

Sports Techie, because of all that walking for a good cause, I recommend Susan G. Komen add an official wearable fitness tracker component (if not already activated) to all events as a compliment to the nutrition and hydration needs met by Ready.

Earlier this summer as a step in the inclusive direction, Ready added their first female athlete to Ready Athletes, WTA tennis star, Jessica Pegula.

Female collegiate athletes at Gonzaga and UCLA are users as are over 200 college and university athletic programs that provide their student-athletes with Ready® products. Ready® is also the Official Sports Drink of seven NCAA Division I Conferences.

Knowing someone both female or male, that has breast cancer, had it, or died from it, unites us all to band together and fight on until a cure is ready.

Until that time comes and after too, continue to press on.
