Part of Orbea’s “My Perfect Shot” series, the fourth episode captured Cam’s inspiring story, his relationship with bicycling, outdoor adventure, and his life off the football field
Orbea, the leading bicycle manufacturer in Mallabia, Spain since 1844, and eight time NFL Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints, together with videographer Chris Ray, filmed the alumni’s homecoming to the University of California-Berkeley as their fourth episode of the “My Perfect Shot” video storytelling series. Cam rode an Orbea eBike to reexplore his former campus training grounds in order to document the Perfect Shot Experience. Orbea is an international biking and technology designer, assembler, and producer of innovative products and manufacturing techniques. Orbea wanted to tell Cam’s story through the adventures of mountain biking as a means to inspire a balanced, outdoors lifestyle away from the daily rigors of professional football while back in the Berkeley foothills after a decade away living in Louisiana. Northern California is forever part of his roots. As a former UC Berkeley student-athlete, Ray used his film producer, content creator and videographer backgrounds to creating this telling and fun version of Orbea’s My Perfect Shot. The Sports Techie community blog is super pumped to share this piece because I am an avid MT Biker since my youth days in the Pacific Northwest so I truly understand the joy Jordan experienced filming his off-the-field adventure storyline while single tracking and road cycling on a super nice eBike made by one the industry leaders to the top of the hills he used to run up, earning a breathtaking Bay Area view. The My Perfect Shot Cam episode released in December of 2022 revealed the merging of sport and culture and how it can generate a collective sense of the biking community allowing photographers, cyclists, and adventurists to all share their stories while living through the experiences of like-minded others.

A decade after first moving to Berkeley, the episode captured Cam’s most memorable moments and places from his past as he experienced them through a new point of view: from the seat of an Orbea ebike. After he grew up in the streets of the city, Cam stepped out of his comfort zone into mountain biking and the excitement and adventure that he had only found on the NFL field before.
The four-part series has previously featured pro-snowboarder Hailey Lagland, pro-mountain biker Geoff Gulevich, senior creative director at Go-Pro Abe Kislevitz, and photographer and biker Zach Heath.
