New Paralympix Game
The 2016 Paralympic opening ceremony is today just in time to play the Paralympic-themed game, the Paralympix. The video game was designed by a digital agency based in Manchester named Mobedia. The Sports Techie community blog welcomes them sharing their interactive gaming fun so we can share it with our global followers and readers. The retro pixelated design for the game (hence the name) where you can race on the track as a Paralympian is a hoot and you can track your top time on the leaderboard as well as donate to the British Paralympic Association (BPA.) Get started now.

Sports tech does not have to cost a ton of money or be used by only professional teams or the best athletes around the world. I consider this sports technology gaming product simple fun, engaging and a positive way to get the word out about the athletes and teams competing at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The Paralympics opening ceremonies begins tonight.

First, select a nickname, of course our group is named, Sports Techie, and mine is, THESportsTechie. Next, pick a national flag from eight participating countries including, Team USA, Paralympics GB and Brazil, the Rio 2016 host nation. Finally, hit the ‘Go’ button and you are ready to wheelchair race against other Paralympic racers by hitting the G and H tabs on your keyboard.

The Paralympians
The Rio Paralympics begins today, on 7th September with athletes from a range of impairment groups making pilgrimage from each corner of the globe. The achievement through adversity of all paralympians is an unparalleled feat, something mobedia takes great inspiration from.
So much so that they decided to tip their hat in the form of a Rio Paralympics game. ‘The Paralympix,’ designed in our famed pixel style, is an enjoyable (and slightly addictive) 100m wheelchair sprint that raises the profile of The Paralympics. ‘The Paralympix’ has been shared across social media outlets to generate Paralympic buzz and to raise donations for the British Paralympic Association.

Team GB returned home with an outstanding Rio 2015 haul of 67 medals, surpassing their “unsurpassable” total of 65 at London 2012. But before the dust finally settles upon the bustling streets of Rio, Mobedia wants the attention of UK and international fans alike to turn to the superhuman folk of their cozy little island.

Sports Techie, for the Summer and Winter Paralympics, each athlete is given a classification in accordance with the nature and severity of their disability or combinations of disabilities.
I was a caretaker for twins in Redmond that have Muscular dystrophy and have been in wheelchairs since teenagers. They now move around in motorized wheelchairs with the help of technology and human power. I know if they could compete in the Paralympics and represent the United States they would. So Rod and Randy, get your healthcare assistants to play the Paralympix for you and we will all see your scores up on the leaderboard.
While my time of 6.633 is sizzling, it pales in comparison to the might Joe who must have incredible finger dexterity and a lighting fast computer.
Enjoy these amazing Games full of alternative sports and watch it all on your digital devices no matter where you are because these athletes give it their all for the right reasons, expect of course team Russia that was banned by the IPC that was banned for using PDA’s in a major doping scandal.
