Innovative sports technology is coming to our good neighbors in Canada thanks in part to the new partnership between deltatre and Monterosa. While at the global sports industry Sportel Conference currently under way in Monaco, their agreement to develop a second screen application for one of Canada’s preeminent broadcasters was released. The Sports Techie community blog is privileged to share this breaking news about the sport business and technology firm deltatre, and their sports tech collaboration with Monterosa, to develop a second screen app for one of Canada’s top broadcasting teams.
In partnership with London-based second screen platform specialists Monterosa, deltatre will provide a robust tablet app to complement broadcast coverage of February’s winter sporting events in Sochi, Russia.
deltatre began servicing North American broadcasters in 2008 when Beijing played host to the world’s largest sporting event, the summer Olympics. Since then, the innovative company’s business development on our hemisphere have evolved to see it proactively provide products and services biennially each time the world’s virtual eye’s turn to the grandest sporting stage of them all.
Whether summer or winter activities, deltatre has its finger on the pulse; powering multi-lingual event driven localized websites, providing real-time competition results using Podium, deltatre’s results product, and developing event specific mobile apps that keep fans engaged in the action.
Second screen expert and deltatre Chief Product Officer Carlo de Marchis, said, “deltatre has a great tradition of providing clients across the globe with first-to-market solutions to maximize the value of their sports rights. Working with Monterosa, we are pleased to expand our offering to provide a complete digital solution including a cutting-edge second screen user experience.”
Leveraging its extensive experience in sport along with its expertise developing mobile and tablet tech and apps for the likes of STAR Sports and the IAAF, deltatre will create a unique enhancement to television broadcasts and capitalize on Monterosa’s second screen platform LViS Studio.
By merging the content management capabilities of deltatre Forge and Monterosa’s API-driven LViS Studio, the sportsbiz partners will provide one of Canada’s leading broadcasters with an intelligent second screen app that captivates fans with real-time, up-to-the-moment results and multi-media editorial content relevant to the day’s programming and results.
Commenting on the partnership, Tom McDonnell, Commercial Director at Monterosa, said, “LViS Studio is providing deltatre a powerful cloud platform on which to build their groundbreaking second screen sports experiences. By partnering on this great opportunity, our client is getting a winning combination of sports expertise and a decade of second screen experience from deltatre and Monterosa.”
As the epic games unfold next February, deltatre will be at the heart of it all, connecting avid and casual fans at home or on mobile devices, to the riveting action.
