Role
This position is responsible for editing video assets to meet Contour’s needs for internal and sales tools.
Responsibilities
Editing video and inserting music, dialogue, voiceovers and sound effects to arrange video into sequences and to correct errors, using editing equipment
Reviewing footage sequence by sequence in order to become familiar with it before assembling it into a final product
Creating an edits decision list (EDL) for the video projects
Designing and executing graphics to integrate into video project
Determining the specific audio and visual effects necessary to produce the final product
Setting up and operating computer editing systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units in order to produce a final product
Brainstorm new and interesting concepts for original Contour web videos and sales videos.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in editorial, media, journalism and/or communications
Preferred Work Experience
5 years experience in film editing with Final Cut Pro or Avid platforms
2 years experience with Adobe After Effects or equivalent
Specialized Skills And Knowledge
Experience with color correction & color timing
Resume of editing work or portfolio
General understanding of action sports
General understanding of music scene
Able to follow and create storyboards
Good visual aesthetic
Ability to create energetic as well as thoughtful video edits
Willing to keep abreast of industry trends and learn new software
Proven creative vision with the ability to utilize existing footage and graphic elements to consistently produce compelling and captivating video
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to multitask and produce creative, quality product under tight deadline pressure
Ability to handle constructive criticism and work in fast-paced environment
Must be willing to travel extensively
Must be based in Seattle
