Sqor social network is connecting sports fans directly to athletes. Today at 5 pm EST on ESPN, the greatest QB in NFL history will evaluate the top of the NFL draft via video on the Sqor platform.
NFL Draft

Virtual Fan Network
Sqor is a sports business offshoot of digital sports innovator Virtual Fan Network. Sqor takes Brett Favre, and thousands of other athletes, off the field, court and rink and places them in the palm of your hand, providing the most engaging relationship platform in sports.
Brett Favre
Brett Favre was a three-time MVP and Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers; he set records that may never be broken.
“Sqor is so simple…I was sold right away. This is a great way for athletes to grow their fan base,” said Favre. “Sqor cuts out the middle man and allows athletes unfiltered access to their fans.”
Here is a tweet from Brett from earlier today about the NFL Draft and the question of who the Kansas City Chiefs will pick at number one unless they trade down.
Big things coming up today for @kcchiefs.And the No. 1 pick will be???? #nfldraft

Brett might get Twitter finger in his throwing arm from too many smartphone NFL Draft live tweets.
Chris Canty
Super Bowl Champion Chris Canty was a standout defensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants before signing this offseason with the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens, so he’s used to being in the media spotlight. But now the 9-year NFL veteran is flipping the script, serving as a special correspondent and NFL draft insider for Sqor.
“Chris Canty has navigated some of the toughest sports media in the world, and now with Sqor, Chris is taking control of the conversation and bringing it directly to his fans,” said Sqor CEO Brian Wilhite.
Throughout draft week, Canty previews the first round of the draft on Twitter (@ChrisCanty99), offers one-on-one interviews with top draft picks and takes fans behind the velvet ropes, giving them behind-the-scenes access to exclusive NFL draft parties.
“Sqor is an awesome way for me and my fans to connect,” Canty said. “It gives me a chance to show them more of who I am and what I do, on and off the field.”
Sqor
Historically, players needed to wait for reporters to ask them questions in order to share their opinions. With the launch of the Sqor, athletes serve as their own personal beat reporters, providing unmatched access, insight and interaction with their most fervent fans. With the athlete becoming the publisher, Sqor reinvents the way athletes connect to their fans.
Sqor connects fans to the athletes and sports they love. The Sqor aggregation experience combines the latest from social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, sports news sites such as Sporting News and ESPN, and video, photo and original athlete-produced content, all in a highly visual, deeply engaging, personalized experience
Marketing Manager, Elizabeth Kantor, shared with Sports Techie that there is a, “high probability of a financial safety net.” She was referring to athletes who are looking to diversify their assets and do end up working with Sqor. Players are going broke after they retire which a major problem for the NFL and other leagues so finding investments that have the potential to bring a steady return on investment in today’s economy is critical to help turn this unfortunate truth around.
By having content all in one place with Sqor, athletes in the NFL, MLB and a number of other sports leagues help themselves build their own fan base. Sqor tools are also designed to help with contract negotiations, endorsements, sponsorships and marketing opportunities, by leveraging an athlete’s fan base.
Brian Wilhite – CEO/Founder at Virtual Fan Network / Sqor
“Brett Favre is someone that understands innovation, audience and competing to win. Brett’s understanding of the needs of the professional athlete and the relationship between the athlete and the fan are what makes Brett’s involvement with Sqor so valuable,” said Sqor CEO Brian Wilhite.
Brian always dreamed of becoming a professional Baseball player. Yet somehow he ended up working on Wall Street in the financial services industry. After graduating LSU with a degree in International Trade & Finance, and enjoying a successful career playing Baseball for the Tigers, Brian embarked on a 18 year career in the financial services industry.
Being a hard wired entrepreneur, Brain saw the emergence of Social Media as an opportunity. Brian has been involved developing and utilizing social and mobile technologies for brand marketers for the last 6 years, before many people even knew Social Media existed. Seeing an opportunity to innovate the Sports Marketing industry, which had not innovated since Mark McCormack founded IMG over 50 years ago, Brian saw a vision to merge traditional sports marketing with digital media. Through a team effort, the Virtual Fan Network & Sqor were created. He is a huge music fan, Ironman athlete, devout father to three boys, amazing skier, small wave surfer, dog lover, philanthropic organizer, and fortunate to have a wonderful lady by his side every day.

Sports Techie, I like the Sqor tagline – Only for the passionate. With Sqor, fans get what they want and players get an opportunity to grow their fan base community. This sportsbiz partnership is win-win-win in the making for Sqor, athlete’s and fans.
A private beta of Sqor will be available to a small group of users on May 14, 2013. The Sqor app will be available for all iOS and Android devices. MLB players Tim Lincecum, Hunter Pence and Buster Posey on the defending World Series Champions, the San Francisco Giants, are also part of the beta. PGA Tour golfer David Toms is as well. Several UFC and other MMA stars might be joining up shortly. Favre and the rest live tweeting at the #NFLDraft should see their fan base increase as a result of Sqor.
My first impression of the web site interface was it is kind of busy. I said the same thing about the YouTube home page layout in a recent Sports Techie blog. Otherwise, Sqor is right; all the sports content is in one place. I have not met Brain however we are connected on LinkedIn.
If anyone one of you Sports Techie wants to engage with Brett and his tweeting team during the NFL Draft and hear their thoughts, be sure and Sqor.
