RUGBY FEVER REACHES NEW HEIGHTS – INFLIGHT AND IN SHIP CHANNEL SPORTS 24 TO BROADCAST UPCOMING WORLD CUPS
The next two Rugby World Cups are broadcasting on Sport 24 sports channel to travelers’ onboard airlines and cruise ships for long-haul trips only, not domestic travel. The sports technology deal announced out of London today between World Rugby in Dublin and IMG’s Sports 24, covers inflight and in ship broadcasts beginning with Rugby World Cup 2021. Part of Women’s rugby union, the tournament will be hosted this year in New Zealand for the first time, from October 8 to November 12. After 2022, international fans of the sport get a quick turnaround because Rugby World Cup 2023 for men happens in France from September 8 to October 28. Both tournaments are available on Sport 24’s premium sport offering delivered by Panasonic’s market-leading live television service broadcasted from satellite then streamed directly to each passenger’s airplane seat or ship room. The pandemic caused a global shutdown of World Cups and rightfully so, yet now with flights and voyages back to near normal for many airlines and ship lines, interested fans can fly or travel by sea and enjoy live action of the next World Cups for rugby, football soccer, and cricket thanks to innovative technologies brought to life by IMG, Sport 24 and their partners.

Rugby World Cup 2021/2022 For Women
Expect 38 hours of live coverage of the women’s rugby union world championship produced by Sport 24 as the Kiwi Ferns from New Zealand defend their title. The talented Oceania region team are five time title winners, the most of any participating country since the tournament was established in 1991.
Rugby World Cup 2034 For Men
Another part of the business arrangement with World Rugby calls for Sport 24 to broadcast 56 matches of Rugby World Cup 2023 from France covering 112 hours of live and riveting, 15v15 action. The 2023 tournament marks the tenth edition of the quadrennial (every four years) world championship for men’s rugby. South Africa won the last championship over England in 2019 was played in Japan.
