The original fantasy sports game, Strat-O-Matic, has your MLB lockout back with the 2022 regular season simulation ready for Opening Day. Fans need not worry about billionaire owners locking out millionaire players (most actually earn the league minimum salary sitting at $570,500) since Dec. 2 because the market leader in sports simulation is ready to predict outcomes having done so since 1962. Today’s announcement verifies Strat-O-Matic is to provide daily simulations of scheduled games starting Thursday, March 31, the original date of the first matchups leaguewide. Commissioner Rob Manfred was forced to cancel the first two series of the new season after three months of unsuccessful discussions between the league and Major League Players Association. Follow @StratOMatic on Twitter in order to assist with determining team assignments for prominent available free agents from March 21 to 25. The Sports Techie community blog is celebrating our 12-year existence and are honored to once again share another compelling Strat-O-Matic story. “Strat-O” games are known throughout the sports communities for statistical realism and accuracy.
Strat Sims Journey
Strat-O-Matic produced a simulation of games because COVID-19 shortening the 2020 season. Look to the company website for published daily results at http://www.strat-o-matic.com in addition to social media handles. Spring training is schedule to begin no earlier than March 12.
Get ready to be blown away. Strat sims are beginning to achieve legendary status because of the extreme accuracy. The Atlanta Braves 2021 World Series title was correctly predicted in the preseason simulation. The recent Los Angeles Rams NFL football championship almost matched the exact Strat score and were also very close with their approximating statistics for top stars, University of Georgia legend Matt Stafford, and probable league MVP, Cooper Kupp, are a couple of recent sim examples.
“We are hopeful that the season will get underway soon, but in the meantime, we have fans covered,” said Hal Richman, Strat-O-Matic founder. “Fans absolutely loved how we kept their baseball juices flowing with the simulation when play was suspended in 2020, and we hope that this keeps them ready for when the players are back on the field.”
Invented by 11-year-old Richman in his bedroom in Great Neck, N.Y. in 1948 as a result of his frustration with the statistical randomness of other baseball board games; he later discovered that the statistical predictability of dice would give his game the realism he craved.
Strat-O-Matic celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, congrats. The management team decided to hold its own annual “Opening Day” in February. Despite not being able to host the event with live people, because of the pandemic, thousands of fans participated virtually in the joyful release of the new cards created with 2021 season statistics. They also launched various newly formulated sets simulating the 1986 and 1947 seasons with the latter season timed perfectly with the celebration of the Jackie Robinson’s 75th anniversary debut as the player that finally broke the color barrier as a black man.
The leading manufacturer of top selling sports board games and realism/stats sports digital games, Strat publishes baseball, football, basketball and hockey games to play both on and off your computer and mobile screens.
The Company continues to house the world’s greatest sports game stat libraries featuring top-of-the-line seasons dating back to the early 1900’s.
For the beginning of the 2016 MLB season, Strat-O-Matic introduced Baseball Daily, its first product featuring digital player cards that update every day to reflect real life current player performance as the season progresses.
Sports Techie, Strat sim’s should be used to help negotiations between the union and league, just saying.
They wouldn’t be much help with CBA issues like the competitive balance tax thresholds, minimum salary, and the size of a new pre-arbitration bonus pool.
However the lockout goes down, Strat-O-Matic certainly has you covered come Opening Day.
Let’s play ball like my son did over the weekend for the very first time on the Murphey Candler Challenger Scrappers team!
