NBRPA Legends Summer Getaway Features Tech Summit And Amazon Career Day

NATIONAL BASKETBALL RETIRED PLAYERS ASSOCIATION SET TO TIP OFF ANNUAL LEGENDS SUMMER GETAWAY IN LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas is hosting a new National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) event, the Legends Summer Getaway, from July 7-9. The annual gathering promises more than 100 NBA, WNBA and ABA Legends all in Nevada this week to network, learn about sports technology and emerging business opportunities, and perhaps to take new work paths or consider alternative investments. The Sports Techie community blog encourages NBRPA members to pay attention to the many live events and participate in the cutting-edge Legends Tech Summit – Emerging Technology & Player Opportunities (such as NFTs) powered by The ARIA Exchange. The other must do events include Amazon Career Event, a social golf gathering at TopGolf Las Vegas, the always engaging NBA Summer League games, and a JEWEL Nightclub evening party hosted by NBRPA. Since its founding in 1922, the 501(c) 3 organization continues to adhere to their mission to develop, implement and advocate a wide array of programs to benefit its members, supporters and the community. Legends Summer Getaway and the 2022 Legends HBCU Scholars are exactly that and much more for the constituents and communities alike.

What Happens In Vegas

“Bringing retired players back for our events is a natural fit for us and is part of our DNA,” said NBRPA President and CEO Scott Rochelle. “With the importance of Summer League and all of the possibilities Las Vegas presents, we want to make sure we have a large presence here as well and keep this community of players involved in everything that’s going on in world of basketball and business.”

Look for the influential panel at the Emerging Technology & Player Opportunities Tech Summit to include NBA Legends Metta Sandiford Artest, The ARIA Exchange personnel, BLEAV, and NBA executives, moderated by NBA/WNBA analyst, ESPN – Ros Gold-Onwude.  Talks will focus on the latest and most sustainable developments in the upside down NFT industry, as well as discussing why a podcast such as The Draymond Green Show by iHeartPodcasts and The Volume on Apple Podcasts are profitable, with the final chat touching on the business future potential these fast-growing niches present to former players.

The initial Amazon Career event features WNBA Legend Yolanda Moore sharing about her own Athletes Program by Amazon experiences and how it impacted her post-playing career path, in addition to discussing benefits other athletes can look for.

The exclusive TopGolf Las Vegas gathering is sure to be a good time for all in attendance as a means to continue bonding and networking with experts while driving tracked golf balls down the indoor fairway.

Thinking back to when the NBRPA membership were themselves rookies and free agents trying to make it into the leagues, this class of talent playing in NBA Summer League competition played at the Thomas & Mack Center is sure to bring back memories, and very well could led to needed mentorships and budding friendships for both the upcoming talent and retirees, respectively.
