Favored USWNT and France To Set Digital, Social and Ticketing FIFA WWC Records While Fox Sports Simulcasts on Mega-Zilla

Fox Sports Set Digital and Social High Marks For FIFA WWC in France during USA match

The USWNT and France face each other today in a FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 quarterfinal match that is sure to break the digital, social and maybe even ticketing records for the tournament. Tournament broadcaster Fox Sports is streaming and will also simulcast the highly anticipated showdown to Times Square on the Mega-Zilla 4K screen for the ultimate soccer fan experience. Call in sick to work because this game at Parc des Princes stadium in Paris will surely break the existing record of 618,000 streamers set by the Team USA round-of-16 win over Spain on June 24. Fox Sports social media records were also achieved for the best day of the tourney on Twitter and YouTube. This event has been a sellout but the secondary ticket market is popping with premium tickets ranging from more than $2,000 per seat to nose bleed seats at nearly $200 if you can still find one. Fans of the US Soccer women’s national team and the ladies French national team in NYC get the opportunity to cheer on their favorite team on the high-definition (HD) Mega-Zilla video board broadcasting on Fox TV at 3 pm ET. The Sports Techie community blog welcomes the virtual excitement of a game worthy of a WWC 2019 final. Might this game come down to VAR? Sports tech is truly the glue to fan experiences worldwide, women included.

Stream and Tweet Away on Fox Sports

Can it get any better than to watch this event with second screen technology? No sir or ma’am it cannot and Fox Sports is ready to deliver with TV and streaming so you can watch on your digital device wherever you are in the United States. At one point almost 500,000 streamers watched the U.S. and Spain on an iPhone, Android, or tablet, computer or Smart TV, simultaneously. A number sure to be shattered today.

To give you perspective, Brazil had 35 million viewers across the nation when they lost to France to begin the knockout stage.

The social platforms on Fox Sports were sizzling with Twitter leading the way via 5.2 million views. Add in the 1.8 million visitors to YouTube and a historical precedent has been set on Fox social. No doubt these impressive digital figures will be shattered today.

All is not socially peachy as this looked for Fox though as I pointed on in real-time on THE @SportsTechieNET handle because the US/Spain television broadcast was on FS1 and not showing on FOX or Fox Sports yet their Twitter handled had no tweet regarding the match all day. The most recent @FS1 tweet about the NBA was three days old. No chance for this business mistake today because the game is on FOX television. Cable is not a requirement, just an antenna, HD if possible, and you can watch it for free.

FIFA and French Sell Outs

A game is never sold out or is it? FIFA and France have consistently said all WWC games were sold out or near sell outs. No chance that is true. Many matches with lesser quality opponents not playing against the USWNT aka Thailand, were played in front of remarkably half-full or near empty stadiums.

Theories are FIFA has from the get-go not promoted the WWC as should be yet they continue to promote COPA America for the men as if it matters more. France had the end of the French Open tennis Major tournament and the upcoming Tour de France cycling race to showcase alongside the WWC. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand this dilemma but their marketing effort for the WWC was diluted to say the least.

The good news is you could have bought a ticket for under 10 euros for the early rounds. The Chile and Thailand game was practically free for bargain ticket shoppers. The bad news is if the US loses today and France gets upset in the semis, you better believe ticket pricing will plummet from an all-time high today no matter who plays in the final. This is actually another good problem to have if you happen to be in France and are searching for ticket values on StubHub for the finals.

Meet Mega-Zilla

Silvercast created Mega-Zilla as the TV display is known. It covers 78-feet by 330 feet making it the largest in the world to date, making it more than enough screen to showcase the Team USA and Team France football match live from the crossroads of the world. New York City is known as the Big Apple and this watch party certainly fits the bill. MegaZilla’s location is on Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets  in Manhattan.

FOX Simulcast

Fox Sports will begin coverage at 2 PM ET tomorrow with FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Live meaning eager futbol fans will line up early in the morning to get the best vantage point but with a video board this large, there won’t be a bad seat in Times Square to be had by the thousands of fans that show up to root on the slightly favored USWNT.

Lead match analyst Aly Wagner and lead play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera, are the Fox Sports broadcast duo calling the action live from Paris.

Odds Favor USWNT

The U.S. is 0-1-2 in the last three match against France including a 3-1 loss in January so remember that is you make a bet. The heat wave across Europe will certainly be another major factor as the match presses on, especially if it goes extra time. and perhaps even goes to penalty kicks for the win.

SportingNews provided the following sports betting breakdown.

USA vs. France odds: Who’s the favorite to win Women’s World Cup quarterfinal?

Crazy, cool times we live in when New Jersey just overtook Las Vegas for sports bets. Lay down your bet at the Fanduel Sportsbook.

Times Square in NYC is hosting the USWNT and France FIFA WWC Fox Sports Simulcast on Mega-Zilla 4K HD TV Display

Sports Techie, the USWNT scored on two penalty kicks to defeat a pesky team from Spain to earn this quarters opportunity, the winning goal a highly questionable call after VAR looked it over.

The French team is hosting the tournament and the pressure of a expecting nation rides on their shoulders. The French men’s national team won last year’s World Cup in Russia and no country has ever won both World Cup’s back-to-back so the entire country is expecting V-for-victory.

Is this the biggest women’s soccer match of all-time?

Thanks to Fox and sports technology, it is for sure.
