D.C. Area College Basketball Games To Live Stream On Monumental Sports Network

Monumental Sports Network Partners with Four Local Universities and HBCU GO to Broadcast College Basketball

Network to Air 50 College Basketball Games During 2023-24 Season

Washington D.C men’s, women’s and HBCU Go are live streaming and on-demand via Monumental Sports Network during the 2023-24 season. The local DMV-area partnerships announced today will include 50 games with 21 women’s games played by George Washington, Howard, Richmond and Towson University, respectively, as part of the first year offering. Another new partnership features HBCU GO streaming 20 archived men’s and women’s basketball games from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Sports Techie community blog loves to see the trend of rights holders streaming directly to fans hungry to watch local and regional teams. The 50 Division I game total represents the most college basketball games to air on the network during a single season.

“Monumental Sports Network is the best place for D.C.-area basketball fans to watch live, local hoops at all levels,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager, Monumental Sports Network. “Our region has a rich college basketball tradition and we are proud to showcase several exciting programs on our network this year.”

D.C. Area Live Collegiate Hoops

Monumental has three million households in the network’s local footprint enabling the network to stream favorite DMV-area teams over the coming months. Local college hoops fans with a pay tv subscription are able to watch games on Monumental Sports Network using a tv or they can stream games at the www.monumentalsportsnetwork.com website. Other options include, downloading the Monumental Sports Network app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV and using an eligible TV Everywhere log-in.

HBCUs

As part of the HBCU college basketball programming, Monumental will offer 20 taped games including local Bowie State University.

“We are proud to use our network platform to elevate HBCU athletics and provide their fan bases an opportunity to watch their favorite teams in action,” said Caitlin Mangum, Vice President, Content & Programming, Monumental Sports Network.

Monumental Sports Business

Monumental Sports Network is wholly owned and operated by Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). In August 2022, MSE acquired full ownership of NBC Sports Washington from Comcast/NBC Universal. The station was rebranded Monumental Sports Network this September with a new slate of programming. The network is the exclusive local television media rights holder for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, NBA’s Washington Wizards, and WNBA’s Washington Mystics and also boasts the most comprehensive regional collegiate Division II-and-under and regional high-school sports programming in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Monumental is also the TV and digital home to the NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go and the NBA 2K League’s Wizards District Gaming as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes content and original sports and entertainment programming.
