Simulations Provided to ‘NHL Tonight’ Before Each Contest Nail Results
Like the hard work put in by the 2023/2024 NHL Stanley Cup winners, the Florida Panthers, Strat-O-Matic’s (@strat-o-matic) proprietary statistical data correctly predicted all seven games. This includes predicting Panthers center Sam Reinhart’s soft wrister, game winning goal that hit the back of the net past goaltender Stuart Skinner of the Edmonton Oilers, during a thrilling Game 7 played on Monday. The market leader in sports simulation games correctly predicted the winners of all seven contests, including six within one of the actual goal differential. Hockey fans watching NHL Network were able see these results before each game on the network’s “NHL Tonight” program. The 2-1 final score results was well below the over 5.5 sports betting prediction by most odds makers and the Strat-O-Matic sim prediction of a 4-3 outcome, despite Game 7 unders paying 63% of the time and there not being an over since the 1950 Stanley Cup final. The Sports Techie community blog tips our prediction hat to the Glen Head, N.Y. based company and on the Internet at www.strat-o-matic.com, the manufacturers of the top selling sports board games and realism/stats sports digital games. Strat-O-Matic’s model also tabbed the Boston Celtics as the champion in its preseason simulation over the Dallas Mavericks.
NHL Networks Sims Provider
Strat-O-Matic provided NHL Network with the simulations based on the latest version of its popular hockey game, updated with current statistical data to best simulate current player use, abilities and tendencies.
Hockey fans can utilize Strat-O-Matic’s game to replay hockey seasons dating back to 1945-46, including several newly-added WHA campaigns.
NBA Championship
The amazing success of the Stanley Cup simulation comes on the heels of an extremely accurate basketball championship prediction, which had the Celtics winning the title in five games over the Mavs in its pre-finals work.
Sports Techie, predicting the outcome of sporting events is growing in popularity, right along side sports gambling and daily fantasy sports.
Strat-O-Matic was invented by 11-year-old Hal Richman in 1948 as a result of his frustration with the statistical randomness of other baseball board games. The founder discovered that the statistical predictability of dice would give his game the realism he craved. Over the next decade, he perfected the game at summer camp and then as a student at Bucknell University. After producing All-Star sets in 1961 and ‘62, he parlayed a $5,000 loan from his father (and made a deal that if it didn’t work out he would work for his father’s insurance company) into the original 1962 Strat-O-Matic Baseball season game.
The Company publishes baseball, football, basketball and hockey games to play both on and off your computer and mobile screens. “Strat-O” games are known throughout the sports community for their statistical realism and accuracy. The Company has the world’s greatest sports game stat libraries with top-of-the-line seasons dating back to the early 1900’s.
At the start of the 2016 MLB season, Strat-O-Matic introduced Baseball Daily, its first product featuring digital player cards that update every day to reflect real life current player performance as the season progresses.
Next up for Strat-O-Matic are 2024/2025 NFL Super Bowl predictions. This comes after successfully predicting both the Stanley Cup results of seven games won by Florida and the NBA Championship outcome of five total games won by Boston.
Simulations are becoming closer and closer to the real thing.
