Ultimate Rivals Sports Game Franchise By Bit Fry Gaming Studios Available On Apple Arcade

All-Star Athletes From NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, WNBA and US Women’s National Soccer Team Take to the Ice in “Ultimate Rivals: The Rink

Bit Fry is not a software code, fishing recipe or the nickname of the techie kid next door rather it is new, officially licensed sports gaming franchise featuring top players across all the major sport leagues. This is a first video game of its kind created by Bit Fry Game Studios located in New Hampshire. These smart game developers signed significant licensing agreements with nice professional sports organizations. The NHL, NHL Players’ Association (NHLPA), NBA, National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), MLB, MLB Players Association (MLBPA), NFLPA, Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA), USWNTPA, as well as the “Great One” Wayne Gretzky, have all signed on to be a part of this cutting edge sports tech venture. The first title, “Ultimate Rivals: The Rink” is played while on ice between all-star athletes from the NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB, WNBA and US Women’s National Soccer Team. Interested gamers can play only on Apple Arcade exclusively. The Sports Techie community blog is a gaming advocate, I can’t wait to play.

Apple launches “Ultimate Rivals” from Bit Fry Game Studios, an all-new sports game franchise available exclusively on Apple Arcade

Bit Fry

Electronic Arts (EA) did not develop this concept instead it was Bit Fry, an independent multi-platform developer and publisher of sports video games. They are first studio to merge licenses from all player unions plus the big four leagues into a single gaming franchise.

“We are ripping up the sports video game rule book and re-writing it for a new generation. We’re starting with the gamer first and empowering their imagination to create the ultimate team of athletes across sports, in a way only they can envision,” said Ben Freidlin, CEO and founder of Bit Fry Game Studios, Inc. and the creator of “Ultimate Rivals.”

Bit Fry was founded in 2013. Company demographics include gaming, entertainment and sports veterans. Their first investment was by former Red Sox owner and vice chairman Les Otten. Now counted among its savvy investors are sports and gaming legends such as Xbox co-creator and managing partner of 1UP Ventures Ed Fries, MLB all-star and World Series champion Ryan Howard, private equity fund Dugout Ventures, co-founding partner of March Capital Gregory Milken, Barclays’ head of Equities Trading for the Americas Todd Sandoz, and BITKRAFT Esports Ventures.

Ultimate Rivals

Bringing together the top athletes across sports into a single franchise is a brilliant concept, eh. I grew up playing basketball, baseball and football, soccer and basement hockey. Most of the best athletes could probably cross over and play another pro sport with enough dedication, practice and coaching. Some that come to mind that did so are Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Russell Wilson, and Kyler Murray. The greatest football player of all-time, Jim Brown, is also the best lacrosse player ever. Gretzky loves playing lacrosse too. The NBA’s possible GOAT, Michael Jordan, gave playing pro baseball a shot but never got called up from the minors to the show. Carli Lloyd on the USWNT might make it as an NFL kicker next season after her tryouts last year showed her potential cross-sport talent.

The concept breaks down like this, players use a different combination of superstars to unlock the formulas used to defeat an opponent or the games AI during online matches. Select from a combo of 58 athletes from the likes of LeBron James, Mike Trout, Alex Ovechkin, Jose Altuve, Alex Morgan, Clayton Kershaw, Mookie Betts, James Harden, Zion Williamson, JJ Watt and Hall of Fame legend, Wayne Gretzky. Start with Ovechkin and Morgan against De’Aaron Fox and Altuve or Skylar Diggins-Smith and Gretzky.

More athletes will be made available to broaden the scope of the game long-term. Short-timed games using arcade rules are designed to increase gameplay, while delivering insane fun and technology-driven experiences enabling the best skilled players to rise up and win. Play either online multiplayer matches or single player versus the logical, yet always learning AI opponents via touch controls or Bluetooth-connected console controllers.

“Ultimate Rivals: The Rink” Played With Wayne Gretzky

Sports Techie, LeBron playing football, think about that for second. That amazing visual can now be a gaming reality playing “Ultimate Rivals” with your friends or an opponent on the other side of the world.

Of course you want to play hockey with Gretzky, baseball with Justin Turner or soccer with Alex Morgan as one of your players but JuJu Smith-Schuster as a hoops player or Zion on the rink, the fun playing combos are endless.
