Super Fruit Blend

Proprietary Super Fruit Blend is a real food carbohydrate source containing plant based Polyphenols, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nutrients that reduce inflammation and byproducts produced during exercise that are present in fatigue. Polyphenols may also have a role in promoting increased blood flow to the exercising muscle.

“We felt strongly that there was an opportunity to disrupt the sports drink category by providing a combination of carbs for energy and hydration in one product if we followed the sports nutrition science more closely,” says Pat Cavanaugh, Ready® Nutrition’s Founder and CEO “Carbs coming from superfruit instead of just added sugar was a game changer for us. And an electrolyte blend that was chosen based on how much athletes lose when they sweat, rather focusing on only one primary electrolyte, means a more efficient hydration product.”

Cavanaugh added, “Of course, the benefits of our sports drink are lost if the taste doesn’t measure up. Aaron and Giannis were involved every step of the way when it came to great taste, flavor and how light and refreshing it needed to be.”

There are 0g of added sugar, meaning it has no white or sugar cane, or dextrose and high fructose corn syrup. The Ready® electrolyte mixture was developed to proportionally replace electrolytes lost in sweat focusing on Sodium and Chloride in higher amounts, with slightly less Potassium to promote optimal hydration.

Ready Nutrition is promoting its “zero added sugars” and “triple-electrolyte” ingredients sodium, potassium and chloride. The combination is better suited for athletes to replace lost nourishments during workouts.

Super Fruit Blend along with B vitamins boost nutrient delivery to the muscle as well as energy production in the muscle, for sustained high performance. B vitamins help release energy from carbohydrate and fats in the diet so the muscle can use it for energy. B vitamins are also needed for the production of red blood cells, which are essential for transporting oxygen and nutrients to the exercising muscle.

Ready® features the essential elements to replenish much needed carbohydrates and electrolytes during performance. All without adding any cane sugar. Its label proclaims, “We’re Built Different”, a claim that spotlights the difference between Ready® and other brands because of its upgraded formulation based on the latest in sports nutrition and performance science that includes:

•            A scientifically formulated blend of Superfruits and B-vitamins designed to optimize nutrient delivery and energy production, delaying fatigue.

•            Superfruit carbohydrates infused from real food sources, meaning there is NO added sugar, a much more desirable way to fuel the body than ingesting the added white or cane sugar found in many other sports drinks on the market.

•            An ideal and proprietary electrolyte blend that more accurately mirrors what athletes lose when they sweat, helping to maintain physiological balance and improve hydration.

Cavanaugh told CNBC a 28-ounce Ready Nutrition beverage will cost $1.99, and a 16.9-ounce drink will cost $1.69. The company is releasing eight flavors.

Cavanaugh spoke to CNBC about the company grocery marketing focus being on markets in Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh (Aaron’s hometown). There is a national campaign planned, and when the Covid-19 pandemic is safe enough, the sports nutrition company wants to do a bus tour promoting the new drinks. Ready sports drink is now available at Giants Eagle and other select grocery stores, with Albertsons coming on board in the spring and Amazon soon after.

“We’ve got a goal, and it’s above what launching sports drinks would normally set,” Cavanaugh said. “We expect an above-average sales figure for the first year.”

Ready comes in eight (8) flavors including Peach Mango, Fruit Punch, Berry Lemonade, Orange Passion, Mixed Berry, Strawberry Banana, Blue Raspberry and Black Cherry.  The drink is bottled in Ready’s® next generation, design patented bottles in both 28 oz and 16.9-ounce sizes.

Ready Nutrition Adds LA Rams Superstar Aaron Donald As Co-Owner Investor – The Sports Techie Blog
We Don’t Add Sugar. We Use Super Fruits, Real Food Carbs, B Vitamins and Three Dominant Electrolytes for Complete Hydration

Aaron Donald

Aaron Donald won the NFL 2020 defensive player of the year award from AP for the third time in four years, joining Lawrence Taylor (LT) and J.J. Watts as three-time winners. T.J. Watts came in second place this season and felt slighted based on his dominating season statistically. Donald led the LA Rams to the NFL playoffs winning first at the Seattle Seahawks in the wildcard round before losing at the Green Bay Packers, led by NFL 2020 MVP, Aaron Rogers. He complied 13.5, 14 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and 28 quarterback hits.

Donald told AP, “To be the third to do it that is truly a blessing. It shows the body of work that I have; anytime your hard work is rewarded you are going to be happy about that. It is just a blessing.”

Giannis Ugo Antetokounmpo

Giannis, Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Jordan are the only players in league history to win the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards in the same season.

Alleviating the Milwaukee Bucks and their fans concerns about staying long-term, he signed a contract extension on December 15, 2020 for 5-years and $228 million, making the deal the largest in NBA history. He is loyal to a fault which is awesome for Ready.

Sports Techie, Super Bowl 55 is about to start. I hope the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Anything can happen, especially when Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are the quarterbacks. Donald understands the commitment it takes to get to the Super Bowl and win it. So does too does Giannis regarding an elusive NBA Championship.

Donald says, “I feel I can do everything. No matter the size of the person, as long as you can play at high level and be productive, that is all that matters.”

Having Donald and Giannis as co-owners of Ready is a good way to take a small to medium size business, and step it up to be large sized, and maybe even part of the Fortune 500, one day.

Drink, Ready.

See you later sportstechie in Seattle, Atlanta and around the world!
