Ones Basketball League and Dunk Media Partner to Bring One-on-One Basketball Content to Millions of Young Fans
Ones Basketball League (OBL) in Houston and Dunk Media LLC, out of New York, announced today the signing of a new content and distribution partnership deal tapping into the innovative digital property’s fanbase of 13 million hoops crazy followers of their TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat handles, respectively. The Sports Techie community blog attended the Atlanta event during the inaugural season last summer and had fun meeting OBL founder Tracy McGrady, a Hall of Fame member and successful business entrepreneur. Look for new content of 2022 OBL-related material on Dunk, expected to drive over 50 million video views in the second half of 2023 as the Texas based sport company prepares for a 2024 season relaunch.
McGrady said, “OBL celebrates the best one-on-one players in the world and highlights the essence of our great global game. This new partnership with Dunk will put a spotlight on the best moments from our pilot season and the incredible skill and talent of our elite players.””
Dunk To Create OBL Story Clips
Dunk signed up to produce and distribute existing and new content highlighting the OBL and its successful proof-of-concept 2002 season. McGrady and Dunk will showcase and celebrate the one-on-one game, which McGrady calls, “the essence of basketball.”
Jeffrey Pollack, Co-Founder of OBL, said, “Our proof-of-concept season was a smash hit and Dunk will help re-energize and expand the OBL fanbase as we put the pieces in place for our re-launch in 2024.”
Dunk will produce and distribute a wide range of engaging basketball content, including highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, player interviews, and insightful analysis revealing an unprecedented glimpse into the world of OBL.
Josh Gotthelf, CEO of Dunk Media, said, “The one-on-one game, and OBL’s unique format, are a perfect fit for the way today’s young audience consumes basketball content. We’re looking forward to telling the OBL’s many stories and creating new emotional connections to our community.”
Sports Techie, living in Atlanta for the past decade has been an awesome experience. Attending OBL’s first Atlanta event was a heartfelt bonding opportunity for my son and me. Hopefully, he will grow up and understand what the finger waggle by Dikembe Mutombo below signifies.
I’m looking forward to watching Dunk retell the 2022 OBL season to remember!
See you later sportstechie in Seattle, Atlanta and around the world!
