College Basketball Quadruple-Header to Be Featured as Part of CBS Sports Network College Basketball Coverage
Victorinox is the new title sponsor of the inaugural Legends of Basketball Showcase. The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) announced today their college basketball quadruple header set for Dec. 17 at the United Center in Chicago will be presented by Victorinox. The four-game matchup pits Northern Iowa against Towson followed by Tulane playing George Mason in the afternoon session, then Dayton plays Wyoming and NC State take on Vanderbilt in the later evening session. Both of the evening session games are schedule to broadcast on CBS Sports Network beginning at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT. The Sports Techie community blog notes the history of Victorinox dates right back to the year 1884 and today are the well-known manufacturer of the compact knife with an array of practical functions known as the Swiss Army Knife, as as well providing Swiss-made cutlery, watches, travel gear and fragrances. Marketing in the USA through sports such as basketball and to loyal college basketball fans across America is what makes the NBPRA membership and Victorinox a good business fit.

Victorinox Knows Hoops Fans
Intersport, a Chicago-based sports marketing, and media agency, headed the sponsorship agreement leading to Victorinox’s entitlement of the Legends of Basketball Showcase presented by Victorinox. The Swiss brand’s agreement is set to include the promoter’s various owned and operated college basketball events during the remainder of 2022, including The Victorinox Tampa Tip-Off that will be held December 14 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla because their story is not just about how the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife became an international icon.
“To welcome a legendary brand such as Victorinox into Intersport’s portfolio of college basketball events is significant,” said Mark Starsiak, vice president at Intersport. “Premium brands continue to view our events as important opportunities to engage with consumers.”
Over the past several weeks, Victorinox has activated at each of Intersport’s early-season college basketball events, including the Aurora Health Care Brew City Battle in Milwaukee, Wis., the CITI Shamrock Classic, the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off and Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off.
Sports Techie, men’s and women’s college basketball is soon to take over the airwaves until the end of the 2023 March Madness.
It will be interesting to look back and see what teams playing in the Legends of Basketball Showcase make the tournament cut.
