eNASCAR Strikes Virtual Fantasy and Betting eSports Gold With Penn Interactive and Barstool Sports

eNASCAR partners with Penn Interactive, Barstool Sports to amplify Pro Invitational Series events.

Coronavirus shut down live NASCAR races but real-time virtual eNASCAR racing has rocketed to the forefront of viewership via the Pro Invitational iRacing Series Event. The Sports Techie community blog was an official NASCAR contributor and last year reported on iRacing’s network debut on NBCSN. It is no surprise to me that because of COVID-19 stay at home recommendations, NASCAR fans are flocking to their television sets to watch FOX and FS1 in record breaking fashion after last weeks most watch eSports event broke the previous TV record held by the American stock car auto racing company. To take advantage of the surge of tuned in motorsports viewers, eNASCAR partnered with NASCARS’s official gaming partner, Penn Interactive, and Barstool Sports, to further gamify the Pro Invitational Series with digital fan engagement opportunities consisting of new fantasy and prop betting games. The video gaming sim fun continues this weekend with iRacing at Bristol Motor Speedway.

America’s most-watched eSport series embraces gamification and other digital offerings to take fan engagement to next level.

NASCAR Gamification

NASCAR’s management team in their Daytona Beach, FL HQ are most likely not sitting around in their offices because of the order by Governor DeSantis for non-essential businesses to stop operations requiring employees to stay at home. So it is fair to guess that from their homes, executives are not waiting for live racing to start back up who knows when by twiddling their gaming thumbs. Rather, they are busy positioning the hottest gaming property in eSports to generate more sticky content for eNASCAR by evolving the fantasy and betting components to new levels.

It all began in February when Penn National Gaming, Inc. (PENN: NASDAQ) (“Penn National” or the “Company”) announced it’s subsidiary, Penn Interactive, signed a multi-year deal with NASCAR. The new partnership created NASCAR Finish Line, the brand new mobile game designed to allow users a chance at winning a $50,000 jackpot per race in states where it is legal. Two months later, the app relaunched thanks to Penn Interactive with eNASCAR contests. The eNASCAR iRacing.com Pro Invitational Series will never look back as this digital gaming program will accelerate engagement during the weekends event and races.

“During this time of uncertainty, eNASCAR has provided sports fans around the world with an exciting form of sports entertainment that is helping restore some normalcy to the weekend,” said Scott Warfield, NASCAR managing director of gaming. “Now, courtesy of our partners at Penn Interactive, fans can foster an even deeper connection with the new series and have even more incentive to tune into eNASCAR on FOX and FS1.”

Download eNASCAR Finish Line at the App Store and Google Play store. Players on iOS and Android phones and tablets alike have a chance to win the $5,000 jackpot by precisely predicting the top two finishers and also the highest finishers across six different groupings of four drivers.

Last week’s eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series at Texas Motor Speedway featured an intro by Troy Aikman and engaging commentary about a virtual crash by car 14 driven by Clint Bowyer.

NASCAR ON FOX Highlights from last weekend:

This week, the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series received a new look for the race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Heat racing is the newest tweak.

Preview for this weekend:

This weekend’s full slate of events generated from virtual Bristol Motor Speedway features the main event, the “Food City Showdown”, televising live at 1 p.m. ET on FOX, FS1 and the FOX Sports App. Another showcase event is scheduled from virtual BMS, Saturday Night Thunder, featuring ARCA cars. The race is open to drivers racing in the XFINITY Series, Truck Series, ARCA Mendards Series, EURO Series, and Mexico Series, and is live-streaming on eNASCAR.com tonight. No driver from Saturdays race will move on to Sunday’s show. Coverage for Sunday’s race begins at 1 pm ET on FS1 and select FOX stations.

Fans can also get excited to know that that Penn Interactive is serving as entitlement sponsor for the upcoming eNASCAR iRacing.com Pro Invitational Series event taking place virtually from Dover International Speedway on Sunday, May 3rd. This very well may be another record-breaking TV event upgraded by the eNASCAR Finish Line app.

Look for a special integration feature set involving the personalities at Barstool Sports’ personalities. More details about this arrangement is soon to be released.
