FanHub and Buffalo Wild Wings are once again offering a Picks & Props together with BetMGM for the NFL Playoff Divisional Games beginning today through Super Bowl LIV as well as for Monday’s epic 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship game between Clemson and LSU taking the casual mobile gaming experience to the hungry masses. The daily co-branded, free to play digital game platform is operated by ROAR digital, an MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings joint venture designed for BWW restaurant patrons to engage with a multisport Picks & Props game modeled after their first NFL version that had around 300,000 users during the fall of 2019. This time around fans can mix and match choices out of NFL, NCAA Football and NCAA Basketball, NBA and NHL games. The Sports Techie community blog enters our tenth year of blogging and curating sports tech related topics. Sports betting has evolved rapidly and is enjoyed legally in 11 states across the United States because of a Supreme Court ruling combined with the advancement in technologies that allow for safe, secure and fun digital games across a number of platforms.
FanHub Mobile Gaming Experiences
User friendly is the name of the game when it comes to the mobile experience. Going to BWW for food and beverage while watching one or more live sporting events on HD big screens and TVs is a modern-day watch party for those in attendance. A fan that is eating and drinking while rooting on a favorite team does not have the time to download an app for a fee, set up a customer profile and then learn to play a complicated game. Rather, mobile gaming needs to be simple to operate in the 2-4-hour window of opportunity each game being viewed presents to each fan at a sports bar.
FanHub understands the need to provide competitive experiences using a mobile device as they have in excess of five million participants playing around the world. They are based in Australia. Hopefully, their Melbourne office is not nearby one of the ongoing raging wildfires that are consuming so much of the country’s infrastructure, wilderness and wildlife. The Aussie company began Down Under in 2012 first serving Australian Rules Football. Today, they have offices in New York and London while partnering with the NFL, MLB, Turner, DraftKings, the ATP and NewsUK, along with other satisfied clients like BWW that offer one of their 100 or so proprietary products to excited consumers.
“We are pleased to be able to work with Buffalo Wild Wings and launch what we think will be the standard fan engagement platform for consumers going forward – a simple, multisport user friendly experience that will really grow interest in each day,” said Phil de Winter, Head of Business Development, Americas, FanHub. “People want to be able to have fun and build rewards that have value, and this game does all that for whatever team, league or sport you enjoy.”
Betting Games
Ending with Super Bowl LIV on Feb 2, the Picks & Props option has daily sports contests to play and win. Winning rewards such as a private jet to six games of the lucky winners wish list though a partnership with Wheels Up, is just the tip of the reward iceberg.
You may be one of the top weekly winners that receive free wings for a year redeemable at any Buffalo Wild Wings location. A Blazin’ Bonus Question will be randomly offered each week enabling users to earn a point bonanza should they correctly pick the underdog rather than a favorite. If you predict a perfect contest, a streak points multiplier is unlocked compounding your score so you’ll have the best possible chance to get the high point total of the week. The last contest runs on SB LIV day.
Playing the multisport version of the game also has integrated odds and betting functionality for New Jersey-based users only thanks to BWW and BetMGM featuring live odds. Sport gamblers can rely on real-time lines and updated props. Those in New Jersey can lay down a bet and use pre-filled parlay betting slips while utilizing BetMGM predictions.
“With this next phase of Picks and Props, we continue our great partnership with FanHub and press forward in building out a top tier, free-to-play experience for our guests,” said Brandon Gill, Director of Experience and Gaming, Buffalo Wild Wings. “In addition to new features and sports, we continue to build a unique and seamless experience connecting our guests to our betting gaming partner, BetMGM.”
SportsBiz
Buffalo Wild Wings invested in this engaging global sporting platform and digital gaming product for branding purposes and to offer unique fan experiences for existing and new patrons alike. FanHub has significant business traction with partners such as the NFL, Major League Baseball, the AFL and ATP because of their world class and reliable software. Look for even more exciting sports tech to come out in 2020 because of this partnership.
Sports Techie, take these straight up predictions for this extended weekend’s games as a grain of salt.
I like the Minnesota Vikings to upset the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. I flipped from thinking the Tennessee Titans (I saw them defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Mercedes-Benz Stadium this year) would beat the number one AFC seed, the Baltimore Ravens, since I had RB Derrick Henry on my traditional fantasy sports team, to going back and feeling like probable NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is just too good to lose at M&T Bank Stadium. Tomorrow, it is hard to count out top five NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson and the surging Houston Texans but when you have the reigning MVP in Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, they will win easily in a super loud Arrowhead Stadium. Finally, screw the experts and odds makers, I am going with the Seattle Seahawks led by the best fourth quarter winner in NFL history after only eight season, Russell Wilson, to take down the Green Bay Packers in what is sure to be the frozen tundra at Lambeau Field as significant snow and freezing cold weather is predicted. For the Monday CFP game, look for the LSU Tigers to take down the Clemson Tigers even though both quarterbacks are capable of winning this National Championship matchup at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Thank you to FanHub Media for sharing this sports technology related news with me for our followers and readers to enjoy.
Should you visit Buffalo Wild Wings for mobile gaming BetMGM Gameday, make it a Picks & Props winner.
See you later sportstechie in Seattle, Atlanta and around the world!
