Elite Turf USA continues to expand across America, this time adding three new POWER System installations at GoodSports USA. The eco-friendly, woven turf company will returf the multipurpose fields inside the 10 acres facility located in Wall Township, New Jersey with 100% recyclable materials. The Sports Techie community blog is excited about the spring season changing the weather and yesterday’s news from the CDC stating COVID-19 vaccinated people can be outside without as mask as long as it is not with large groups. GoodSports USA is in front of the state of N.J. officially reopening after a year of hunkering down because of the pandemic, meaning all those planned athletic events, summer camps, parties, and outdoor fun, can use the fields with healthier, premier turf when ready by June of 2021. The first US install of Power System was at the Ranney School in N.J. last year. If your facility is located in the US, the time may be right to upgrade from old synthetic to new Elite Turf USA, on behalf of our planet, thanks.

“Initiating another installation in the U.S. with GoodSports USA is a notable milestone for us,” said Paul Adams, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Elite Turf. “As we continue to expand our product locally and nationally, the safety and wellbeing of athletes, children, their families, and coaches remains our top priority. We look forward to bringing our innovative turf to other major athletic facilities who share a similar goal and value their impact on the environment in the near future.”

GoodSports USA will replace three of its fields with 100% recyclable, healthier, more playable, and more durable turf

Who Benefits?

“GoodSports USA is proud to partner with Elite Turf to provide eco-friendly, durable turf fields to all guests who walk through our door,” said GoodSports USA’s General Manager Danny Pepe. “Our mission has always been to provide a safe and spacious setting for recreational programs that bring people of all ages together, and by installing Elite Turf’s POWER System, we are doing just that. The POWER System’s non-rubber infill and multi-layered turf with padding will enhance safety for everyone who plays and visits our facility.”

I love the fact that Elite Turf USA powered by Act Globally is a healthier alternative to other artificial turf products for athletes, young and old, playing in athletic leagues, and attending sport clinics, recreation camps or corporate events, or even a spirited birthday party, because of USDA approval.

Among the reasons why includes designing POWER System without a polyurethane backing, allowing the entire roll of turf to be 100% recyclable at the end of the product life. Manufacturing uses no PAHs, heavy metals, or carcinogens during production. In fact, the materials are all composed of environmentally friendly, non-toxic fibers. The sustainability kicker being this, POWER System in made from patent-pending infill repurposed from recycled ocean plastic. The result is more than 1 million bottles are removed from the ocean per field.

Besides Mother Earth and the environment benefitting by installing eco-friendly turf, adult and kid athletes playing in leagues, campers heading to camps, or summer vacation traveling visitors attending a GoodSports USA hosted event, all get the benefits from the all-in-one turf system that’s 100% recyclable, healthier for players and the environment, more playable, and more durable.

POWER System’s woven turf is known to be stronger and more durable than traditional tufted turf made by competitors, most located here in Georgia. The system has a ProPlay® pad Foundation scores of athletes, coaches and trainers say plays better than other turfs, and actually feels firm while testing soft, resulting in a reduction of potential injuries. Because the backing is woven, fields tend to drain faster, enabling quicker drying times while providing improved playability, per field.

GoodSport USA

GoodSports USA is a year-round sporting complex, open since 1992 for players of all ages. There are temperature-controlled indoor arenas that keep help offset the hot and humid NJ summer events that make it tough to play outside for some. Good ventilation also helps prevent COVID from spreading indoors. The indoor bubble is a 150′ x 225′ enclosed field that is also heated in the winter when used by multi-aged soccer, flag football, and lacrosse teams for both games and practices.

The outdoor spaces are numerous. Come summertime, the bubble is removed and the field is alive with fun activities played outdoors.

Extra GoodSports services include private fitness training. Homeschool physical education, is a supplemental service parents may not be aware of for their boy or girl at home having to perform online learning duties because of the pandemic, eliminating physical education classes and recess outside from daily school curriculum activities.

Sports Techie, I am a lifetime athlete in the middle of my fifth decade on this amazing planet, and parent to a 7-year old and son to his highly active Grandpa, age 68. We have seen the evolution of turf go from super hard, to hard, to not so hard, to eventually, Power System firmness. The understanding of concussions has also leapfrogged in terms of knowledge. Older turf was a concussion waiting to happen, imo. Elite Turf Power System is like night and day when comparing what happens to the brain after it impacts their turf fields, especially without wearing a helmet, and those that still may be in use that are old.

The time is right for countless turf fields around the country to be more eco-conscious and health-centric when it comes to replacing crumb rubber infill used in artificial turf, or the old astroturf if it is still being used.

First, it was the Ranney School, and now it is Goodsports USA.

Way to go New Jerz!

Is your field, facility, city or state, next to install Power System?
