National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Sportlogiq just signed an Official Statistics Partner deal. The multi-year contract delivers artificial intelligence (AI) powered stats to teams, partners and fans via live match data collected at all 13 NLL venues in the United States and Canada. The sport of lacrosse is exploding across North America making this partnership one to help take the NLL to another level through this sports technology agreement. The Sports Techie community blog is encouraged by the NLL’s use of Sportslogiq’s proprietary collection technology to produce sports analytics, advanced stats and insighful content powered by AI enriching the game broadcasts, the League’s website, and their social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Lacrosse or lax was first documented by French Jesuit missionaries in 1636 played by the Huron Nation, a Native American tribe. It is amazing to witness the history and evolution of the fastest game on two feet highlighted by the founding of the NLL in 1986 and fast-forwarding to the league’s sports tech enhanced partnership with Sportlogic beginning with the 2019-2020 season and beyond into the future.
NLL Stat Bonanza
The NLL.com is facing intense competition by the new PLL making this news important for the world’s largest professional lacrosse property in terms of providing additional cutting edge insights for every game. Live match data and AL enriched stats will be collected, analyzed and distributed for the enjoyment of pro indoor lacrosse fans around the world.
NLL partners will activate Sportlogic gathered and analyzed stats for various marketing and sales campaigns. Media and broadcast partners of the NLL will have access to robust stats enabling each to enhance the delivery of live matches and highlights with real-time data collected from each venue. Each team will also have access to the new data for performance analysis and scouting purposes. Fantasy lacrosse and lax betting are also part of this deal.
“Our partnership with Sportlogiq is essential to the next phase of growth for our business and our commitment to enhancing the fan experience through gaming and sports fantasy opportunities,” said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. “The ability for our fans, teams, broadcast, and sports gaming partners to have ‘best in class’ statistics and live match data raises our game and opens some great opportunities with a significantly enhanced stats platform.”

Sports Techie, my lacrosse career predates the NLL by three years as I first played in 1983 at Redmond High School as a junior. I love both the sport and sports tech so naturally this story is tailor-made for me to share with you.
I was very impressed when the NLL named Jessica Berman as the first woman deputy commissioner in a men’s pro sports league back in August and now they announce this cutting edge deal with Sportlogiq.
Any fan of the Buffalo Bandits, Calgary Roughnecks, Colorado Mammoth, Georgia Swarm, Halifax Thunderbirds, New England Black Wolves, New York Riptide, Philadelphia Wings, Rochester Knighthawks, San Diego Seals, Saskatchewan Rush, Toronto Rock, and Vancouver Warriors, should look forward to this step in the sports tech direction by the NLL thanks to Sportlogiq.
Here’s your help!
