You can interact with deltatre at Microsoft Corp. booth SL 1524. deltatre has developed a digital media innovation known as DIVA (Data Integrated Video Application) and it runs on Windows Azure Media Services. deltatre has recently become also a Microsoft Silverlight Featured Partner.

“Microsoft is excited to work with deltatre to deliver the London 2012 Olympic Games with Windows Azure Media Services,” said Sudheer Sirivara, senior director of Windows Azure Media Services at Microsoft. deltatre’s HD video and data delivery capabilities combined with Windows Azure Media Services will help bring high quality coverage of the Olympic Games to millions of fans around the world across a number of different platforms and devices.”

If you visit the Microsoft booth SL 1524, deltatre reps will show you a demo of the DIVA solution along with anything else that interests any Sports Techie. To schedule a meeting at NAB please email to [email protected].

Ciaran Quinn, (CQ) deltatre Director, said “London 2012 is the third consecutive Olympic Games for which deltatre and Microsoft have worked closely together to bring new and highly-innovative digital media services to rights-holders of the world’s greatest multi-sport event. Using DIVA together with Windows Azure Media Services our clients will deliver the London Olympic Games experience to over 100 million fans. Windows Azure Media Services enables us to do this efficiently serving many different digital devices and on very large scale – perfect for London 2012.”

DIVA is both a broadband and mobile video experience that combines live HD video and data, allowing fans to engage with sports on multiple digital platforms including PC, smartphones and tablet devices.

This sportsbiz model increases the looks by millions of sports techie eyeballs compared with typical online video players, and, “this high consumer interest means that a commercial sports rights-holder can generate more value through advertising or subscription,” according to the deltatre press release via Torino, Italy.

“First used for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, DIVA was formally launched in 2011, and has been used for some of the world’s top sports, including the UEFA Champions League, Rugby World Cup, Heineken Cup Rugby, Paralympics World Cup and IAAF Athletics World Championships. Moreover, DIVA and other deltatre services will be used extensively for the London Olympic Games by leading rights holders in North, Central, South America and Europe. These top broadcasters will be using detatre’s DIVA and Windows Azure Media Services, to reach fans during the upcoming London Olympic Games,” says deltatre.

These London 2012 Olympic ‘Digital Games’ will break all existing records for television and online viewership and deltatre is well positioned with DIVA to offer their digital media services to rights-holders.
