THE Sports Techie on the set of Tailgate Warriors Seattle

I was interviewed by the Sports Technology Podcast recently to talk about this new sportsbiz industry, Sports Techie and me.

Henry Hanson and Mike Vasquez co-founded Sports Technology Podcast. Both are PhD candidates at Loughborough University in the UK. Henry is in the Sports Technology Institute program. Mike attended MIT and earned BS and Master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Bryan Roberts helps these two with contributions while he maintains SportsTechLab at: http://www.sportstechlab.com/. All three are now contacts and friends of mine and Sports Techie via Linkedin and Twitter.

The Sports Technology Podcast is a collaboration between these three colleagues at Loughborough University’s Sports Technology Institute. Each week they will talk about the latest news in the world of sports, engineering, design, and business. The goal of the podcast is to provide a platform for industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers to discuss their work and share their thoughts on the evolving role of technology in sports.

E-mail them at info@sportstechnologypodcast.com.

Episodes will be uploaded to iTunes; here is the link:

The Sports Techie at Seattle Bike Expo

Hopefully, you enjoyed this fun talk about sports technology. It is clearly my passion and I have dedicated my career to it. Thus I am indeed THE Sports Techie; however, my company is as much for you as it is for me. Sports and Technology is everywhere and we want to share it with everyone. Sports Techie will help defeat obesity, cure Muscular Dystrophy, and develop sound mind and bodies.

Do me a favor, next time you watch some sports related content, pay attention to the commercials. What you will notice is that the advertisers get sports tech and have quietly and effectively integrated it into marketing and branding campaigns. The upcoming Super Bowl ads will be loaded with sports tech themes. We see this trend exploding as the World becomes more techie and sports helps lead the way. Thank you for being Sports Techie and spreading our smsports community love.
