Microsoft

Diva demonstrations are offered all day long conducted by deltatre personnel at the pod that are more than happy to engage and answer all questions.

PFT
Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) is the technological business unit of Prime Focus and together with deltatre announced today a new end to end live sports OTT platform viewable to the public for the first time at NAB. Each company’s best minds collaborated to develop this live sports solution that enhances the fan experience via integration with the robust Diva video application and the MediaEPR Suite, CLEARTM by PFT for broadcasting and digital needs.

Business looking to monetize live sport, increase consumer engagement should stop by PFT booth #SL9605 and receive a demo of their Clear Cloud service now combined with the Diva, Data Integrated Video Player used by Start Sports for cricket and other international sport broadcasts, as well as storytelling with almost real-time publishing of content to end-user platforms.

Carlo De Marchis, deltatre’s Chief Product Officer said “deltatre are pleased to partner with Prime Focus Technologies on creating solutions together that drive consumer engagement in sports broadcast; something high on the agenda of our clients. We look forward to the next phase of development in exploring potential entertainment offerings and capitalizing on PFT’s expertise in this area”.

According to Marchis, the solution includes preparation (live ingest, transcode), data infusion (merge live logging data from external sources), storytelling (anyone from anywhere can prepare VOD on the fly; live), publish (publish to CMS) and engagement (consumer experience on the player) covering the entire content supply chain for live sports.

“A host of monetization opportunities have now opened up for our customers, because of this integration” said Surendra Kancherla, Vice President, Product Management at Prime Focus Technologies.“This joint offering facilitates real-time VoD publishing, right from the production stage itself. This is more relevant for the rights holders and sports administrators in the context of the rights windows that has opened up beyond ‘live’. What we are jointly facilitating is truly a sales enabler.”

Vizrt
The Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games promises to be a coming out party for live virtual sports graphic solutions co-developed by deltatre and Vizrt, a global provider of production tools for the digital and web media space. Vizrt will offer demos at their NAB booth #SL2417, over April 13-16. The new live virtual sports graphics solution features deltatre touchscreen technology TV presenters can use as a complete and interactive analysis and information system.

Deltatre’s Magma sports TV graphics platform and Vizrt’s Viz Arena’s image-based camera tracking and rendering technology, have been morphed together for football tournament rights holders to incorporate live player tracking graphics and data into any broadcast. This end-to-end solution is highlighted by data-integrated broadcast graphics providing advanced analytics of athlete performances and event results. See the Live Virtual Graphics, and Magma, sport broadcast-ready animation solution at NAB.

Broadcasters at Rio 2016 can rent this Big Data hardware and software-based graphics package that incorporates competition and athlete metrics from the Olympic Data Feed (ODF) by way of a dedicated Games rates card. This is done by capturing the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) official XML-based data and feeding it into Magma. The Viz Engine tool then renders the graphics for live play.

Dr. Stephan Würmlin Stadler, Executive Vice President of Sports for Vizrt, said: “With an event the size of Rio 2016, there’s so much going on at the same time that the narrative is constantly changing. Using the ODF ensures that a broadcaster carries the latest official data. Being able to present it in a creative way helps to keep viewers engaged across what can be a very congested schedule of live televised sport. This end-to-end package delivers a powerful and accessible graphics solution for broadcasters’ biggest event of the year.”

With the new touchscreen solution, television broadcasters can now simply identify each moving player on the field, and then automatically create custom virtual graphics to attach to highlights while keeping track of each player. The data analysis system will automatically suggest pertinent stories or events during the live game. Important game activities are displayed in an intuitive timeline, for example special passing distribution of a player, a high ball-recovery line, or a deviation of the official lineup.

“The vast amount of data gathered during every soccer game makes it very difficult to pull out the most important information at the right time – travelled distance or current speed of a player does not give a real insight into the game,” says Stephan Würmlin Stadler, Executive Vice President of Sports for Vizrt. “The joint forces of Vizrt and deltatre provide a solution, which shows the most relevant information using an intuitive visualization. Reducing the information flow to relevant insights allows the viewer to be informed, while appreciating the full beauty of the game.”

The unique solution powers in-depth statistics, telestration and video analysis tools usable by live studio presenters. Live in-game stats from the Magma platform are easily placed within the same on-air virtual graphics and operational by any production crew member.

Forbidden Technologies
Deltatre will demo the Microsoft Azure based workflow which integrates with Forbidden’s Forscene and provides sub clipping and highlights packages for your sport workflow at NAB booth #SL5305.
