The Sports Techie Take on replacement refs during Monday Night Football on ESPN is that it is took away from the NFL Sports Technology story of another Hall of Fame touchdown pass thrown by Denver Broncos quarterback Payton Manning. The play was originally ruled a no catch by the on field replacement referee but was then overturned by the video replay booth replacement official after an automatic challenge inside of the two-minute warning. This was a new NFL rule in action and it worked by getting the call right, TD Broncos.
